Vietnam Memorial - Greenwood Memorial Terrace

"The Wall" - AVTT Traveling Vietnam Wall

Many just call it "The Wall".  The AVTT Traveling Vietnam Wall, a replica of the Vietnam Veterans Memorial Wall in Washington D.C. will be displayed in Spokane at Greenwood Memorial Terrace cemetery October 3 - 6th, 2013, marking the 40th anniversary of the United States' official withdrawal from Vietnam.

This is the largest traveling wall display, measuring 360 feet in length and 8 feet high at its apex, presented by the American Veterans Traveling Tribute and the Texas Freedom Tribute.  Fairmount Memorial Association, locally-community owned, is proud to sponsor "The AVTT Traveling Wall".   "The Wall" will make its only Eastern Washington appearance in 2013 at Greenwood Memorial Terrace located at 211 North Government Way in Spokane.  Eleven years ago was the last time this monument was exhibited in Spokane.

The exact replica of the Vietnam Veterans Memorial Wall contains 58,195 names of those who died in the Vietnam conflict, including 84 service members from Spokane.

Times to View "The Wall"

We expect upward of 30,000-40,000 people will visit the exhibit during its 4 day appearance in Spokane.  There is no charge to visit "The Wall" which will be fully lit and be open 24 hours each day for visitation.

This replica offers visitors a chance for healing and reflection.  We at Fairmount Memorial Association are pleased to be able to bring this monument to Spokane.  Our company is dedicated to serving those who have given their all for our country.  As part of our 125 year anniversary, we are honored to provide this opportunity to area veterans and their supporters who may not otherwise have the chance to see and experience the memorial.

All branches of the military will be coming together to assist in the presentation of this Vietnam Veterans Memorial Wall.  Additional volunteers will be needed.  If your organization or local business would like to help and/or volunteer time; please contact Dave Ittner, General Manager, Fairmount Memorial Association Cemeteries at 509.838.1405
